Description

A truly AMAZING tabletop statue made of metal / bronze (?) on a marble base. This was purchased in a lot with other, similar statuettes that were all marked, "Made in Greece." The only drawback of this item is the driver is missing his whip or spear. :( Bronze finish statue depicts a Greek (or Roman) charioteer with two horses. He is driving the chariot while carrying his shield. There is a hole in his right hand where he would have carried either a whip or a spear. I did not touch the beautiful finish of this bronzed figure, so all the dark areas are areas of patina that could probably be polished to gleaming. The charioteer and the two horses are bolted to a beautiful piece of green marble. The marble base measures 13 1/2 inches by about 5 3/4 inches. There is one notable fleabite on the marble base. See photos. The bottom of the marble base is not covered with anything and you can see the bolts holding the statues to the base. The overall size is about 8 1/2 inches tall, 17 inches long, and 6 inches wide. This big piece of art weighs a whopping 10 pounds 14 ounces. Shipping for this item will be a bit more than usual.
