Description
Up for your consideration is a stunning brass or bronze statue. This was picked up by my Grandfather somewhere in his many travels. He was a British Military During World War II and later a Diplomat. I have always displayed this in my home as a statue. You can tell from the photographs that there is a uniform hole running through the piece. It’s extremely heavy for its size. It probably weights 10 pounds. My Grandfather acquired it in France in the 1920’s. He always thought it was a door handle to a giant castle door, although he did not know for sure. This piece had been displayed in my fishing cottage for many years. It’s always a conversation piece. This ancient antique statue is a one-of-a-kind piece that dates back to the 1700s. Crafted in France, the statue features a knight in mythology and is made of bronze and brass materials. Measuring at 11 inches in height and 3 inches in width, this medium-sized sculpture is a perfect addition to any collection. The statue is handmade and features a figurative art style with a neoclassicism/romantism period (1770-1840). It is an original piece and not a licensed reproduction. The production technique is cast and it is signed by the artist, who is lost to time. This statue is a unique and rare find for any art enthusiast. From my personal collection. Selling to downsize a bit. New items listed every week. Please see and save my eBay store. Many repeat customers. You never know what will be for sale.
